<description>The current economic climate is challenging but presents endless possibilities for those who are willing to invest in themselves through education or looking at going into business for themselves.

Even though it may feel like a lot of projects and hiring decisions have been put on hold, Canada overall seems to fare relatively OK in the project management arena.

From conversations with recruiters and project managers, contract and permanent opportunities exist in just about all areas but require very specific skill sets and flexibility to travel or to relocate.

To have an edge, you must present yourself professionally and possess all the required skills which must have been used within the past 3 years.

Recruiters and job boards are good sources for finding work but your best bet for your next assignment or role is to talk to people within your network whether you are at your grocery store, at the gym or walking your pet.

From my vantage point, this glass is definitely half full!
