Brilliant Branding for Your Projects

Project BrandingGive your project a brilliant brand—a name, an acronym or a codename that you, your stakeholders and future employers can easily recognize.

In the near term, the “project brand” will show up in all of your project management documentation so make sure to use it consistently. In the long term, that same brand will end up on your resume. Choose a keyword-rich descriptive name—for resume bank searches—along with a memorable acronym or codename.

You are probably familiar with the Manhattan Project (a codename) but not the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T)—the infamous “Big Dig” (unofficial name) in Boston.

Mortgage Web Sites Redesign Project is a far better name than XYZ Release 15 Project. Likewise, WXY Integrated System for the Enterprise (WISE) is more descriptive and catchy than Application Systems Standardization Project or The Power of One Project.
