Last weekend, I noticed a new subdivision sign that states “linked singles.” It took me a while to figure it out but essentially, it was a creative way of saying “duplex” or “semi-detached” homes.
I’m sure you have seen “pre-owned” or “pre-loved” vehicles. Yes, the terms are cheesy but I admire the creativity of the marketers who came up with these concepts. As a project manager, you need to do a better job of marketing your projects.
Instead of simply rambling the project stats (budget, work months, etc.), focus your message on two items: revenue generation and/or expense reduction. If these items are not relevant, then highlight the emotional side with respect to the number of customers or people’s lives that will be impacted by your projects.
Don’t hype the facts but don’t undersell your projects either; market them properly.
